Ironsong Family Moot number 4! |

We've officially scheduled this year's Ironsong Family Moot for the weekend of June 12 & 13.
Explanation for the new people and the slow group!
This is a summer gathering at the shared home of Daichallar, Fleethoof, and myself, in the woods up here in Vermont. It's been called the "Vermoot" colloquially by people who want to get on my nerves, and it's an absolute blast.
What do we do?
We hang out, share stories, play board games, go swimming at the river, eat a ton of great food, share some drinks, and otherwise enjoy each others' company!
Where do we stay?
My house is in Moretown, VT. Accommodation is camping because our house is small and filled with children. A limited supply of tents are available, but these are on a first-come-first-served basis, so let me know if you need one. For those requiring a bed and a room, there are a few hotel options reasonably nearby.
How much does it cost?
Watch this space. In years past, we've asked for a fairly modest donation, usually around $20, to help us defray the cost of food, tiki oil, porta-potty, ice, and booze. We're working on the budget and will have the suggested donation listed soon.
Wait, booze?
Yeah! We usually have a communal keg of Vermont's very own Long Trail Ale on tap, and a lot of folks have brought their own favorite libation in the past. Anyone of legal age is welcome to imbibe, with the understanding that it be done responsibly. After all, there are kids around.
Kids?
We've got our own little zerglings running about underfoot, and if you like, you're welcome to bring yours too!
Sounds like a blast! How do I get involved?
If you're planning on coming, or tentatively think you'd like to, drop me a line here and we'll add your name to the list. We ask that everyone RSVP (this is your invitation) so we can get an accurate census and meet everyone's needs. Check the comment immediately following this for a list of everyone who'll be in attendance.
See you at the Moot!

Advisor Anca! |

Anca has been promoted to the rank of Advisor! She has been a member of the Tribe for a long time, and consistently demonstrated wisdom, fairness, and dedication to the core values of the tribe, and we are all very lucky to have her helping us out! Hooray Anca!
In-character, of course, Sreng has recognized that his own daughter must be groomed for chieftainship herself. After all, the life-expectancy of troll hunters has never been that great, and it would be a shame for a rampaging frost giant to leave the tribe without any Hunters with enunciation problems.
Congratulations Anca! May your reign be long (and if her age is any indicator, it will be!)!

Hi everyone!
Per our moot from a couple of weeks ago, we're going to be clarifying and re-organizing the Tribe's structure a bit. Here's the latest little act of housecleaning; a list explaining which officer is responsible for what aspect of making sure this boat stays above water:
Moots (to be conducted by): Nadilynn, any Ironsinger
Recruitment (assisting new members, etc): Shantow
Planning an RP event: any Ironsinger, Nadilynn
25-man raid: Jabadue
25-man raid Rolls or Loot: Dentik
Getting into or leading a 10-man raid: Donalzon
Improving your DPS: your class lead, or Zlinka
Coordinating crafting and materials: Dentik, Shantow
Resolving conflict with another member or officer: Sreng, Kosath
Tracking down missing feedback from officers: Zlinka
Website: Kretol
Have a concern not addressed in this list: Nadilynn
Note that while our esteemed Ironsingers are referenced in this text, they are not actually officers, so that much hasn't changed.
You'll also find this stickied in Member Meeting for your convenience.

Thank you everyone who attended. Some great conversations were had and a lot of issues were aired. I didn't take actual notes, but I'm going to do my best to post a list of issues that were raised and the resolutions that were achieved:
1. Officer Logistics. A few jobs have not been getting done simply because we were not 100% clear on who should be doing them. Officers will be seeing a re-organization shortly, with some clearly defined roles for each. This information will be made available to the guild so that everyone knows who to consult with when an issue arises.
2. Striving toward better communication between officer cadre and broad membership. We're going to be doing a better job of following up with anyone who brings issues to our attention, and where possible, including them in the discussion.
3. Reviewing the content of the Totem, and considering alternative structuring models to compensate for five years' worth of content.
4. Expanding roleplay opportunities in the guild. Tribesmates holding the rank of Ironsinger are going to be pivotal in this process, as they will be consistently working toward production of storylines and ideas for the rest of us to enjoy. They have been given Message of the Day privileges, and will likely have their own private forum to discuss story arcs and make plans.
5. Encouraging grassroots RP as well. Everyone in the tribe should be conscious of their RP environment. Starting an interaction takes courage but creates opportunities; encouraging others by participating actively helps drive enthusiasm.
6. Considerations for promotion. Please take a moment to review the ranks of Ironsong, and give some thought to those that you feel are deserving of promotion.
7. Closing membership. For now, membership is closed and we are not going to recruit any new members. Pending applications will be resolved, but new memberships will not be considered for now. We are going to review the application process, tighten it up, and re-launch it sometime in the future.
If I forgot anything, let us know in the comments section. Expect to see these changes soon!
