ICC 25-man Expectations and Discussion

Raid composition thoughts: Each class should coordinate what *viable* (gear and player practice) dual specs are available and take that into account when the raid forms. Mostly to coordinate our raidwide buffs and synergy.

Speaking of buffs: I know that Oryx is running a fantastic add-on that tells him when buffs run out, like flasks, or if they forget to re-apply stuff like TSA and other "fire and forget" buffs. It was *very* useful in the high stress of Deathbringer to know that he was watching my back! We all forget at times, and hopefully I can remember to ask him what that add-on is!

jabadue Wrote:1. A blood DK or a marksman hunter to get the attack power buff are kind of hit and miss for us.

On a personal note in regards to this concern: I usually run BM in the raid for the buff-spread factor, but please feel free to get me to switch to my MM spec - I am comfortable in both. (I think that most of our hunters are dual specced, so we can coordinate our spec swapping.)

Edit: I have switched my MM spec to a Survival spec in order to bring replenishment to my 10 man raid. Jabadue said this would not be a problem in the 25 man, but wanted to note the change here.

It is RaidBuffStatus.

I'm experimenting with another one called DebuffEnough, that tracks dynamic debuffs during the fight. That's a bit harder to manage, I'll let you know how it goes.

Per MMO Champion, they've added in the zone wide buff. Currently at +5% health/healing/damage, but increasing in the coming weeks.

Question: The original post mentions that we have a 4k minimum requirement for DPS, pending as we get to later bosses. We are currently bouncing off of Festergut, who has a raid average 7k DPS minimum (though that one in particular is mostly a "stand and smack" fight, so the math might be skewed).

Has the raid entry minimum changed, or are we planning on doing switch-outs as the Blizzard math bosses demand?

- Phoro.

p.s. I have had quite a few folks ask me this question recently, so take this as an "echo" post as a resident chatterbox - and not my character's personal DPS concern.

I would say for content after Saurfang, dpsers "need" to be over 6k in order for us to have a chance to beat a given boss. Festergut is probably the simplest in mechanics of the rest of the bosses, so he will have one of the highest dps requirements due it being your basic "burn" fight. Other bosses may require slightly less dps then Festergut, but will be more complicated to offset. Ex. Rotface has no hard enrage so would need less dps, except that after about 7 minutes our overall damage starts to drop from excessive movement and raid atrophy. Basically, it's not going to get any easier (outside of the Hellscream buff).

That said, it is useful to practice bosses even without the dps being there so that we can practice the mechanics. That will allow us to kill them with less difficulty once our dps gets caught up. That's why we'll do something like TOC, then ICC progression practice.

So I guess what I'm saying is that, though someone might get invited to a raid with lower than that 7k max dps limit you mentioned, it will limit what content we can expect to clear on that night. But right now, all we need is more dps and we'll have 2 more bosses down. And I think Putricide and Dreamwalker would follow very shortly thereafter.

Anyway, I'm not the boss so I'm not in charge of invites, but maybe that can grant a little perspective.

Any dps number that I might give is an expectation, a guide, and not a hard threshold.

I think that number has increased now, though I personally think 7k is high. People should be aiming for 6k dps on a regular basis. Again, this is just a guideline.

Quote:Raiders rejoice (or despair depending on how you feel about it)! The Icecrown raid wide buff has been increased by an additional 5% to 10%. Anyway, if your raid has been on the brink of taking down some bosses but could not muster enough firepower, then the improved Strength of Wrynn or Hellscream's Warsong could be that extra push you need!

Source is WoW.com

Add another 5% to our DPS if your a numbers person.
