So I'm posting this little event that happened on the weekend on the advice of Kretol
A little snippet of the life of Drel xD
Basically this past Saturday, I was involved in a brawl at a soccer match that my best friend was playing in. This is how it went down...
My best friends team was up against a very un-sportsman like opposition that loved faking injuries, cheating, shoving, etc etc. essentially the kind of team that shouldn't be allowed to participate in any sort of sporting tournament whatsoever. As it so happened, my best friend made a clean tackle of one of their players who performed some "acrobatics" before "falling" and clutching his foot in "pain". Thus my best friend did what anyone would do and said "pfft... get up b***h", at which point the supposed "injured" player jumped up and began pushing him around, generally being very asshat-like.
As soon as this happened, the rest of their team began converging on my best friend... all of them obviously having the same zerg mentality that's evident in WoW at times >.> ............. *coughs* anyway..... I wouldn't have my brother (best friend) being pushed about like that, especially when he hadn't done anything that warranted such treatment. Thus I jump up and start pushing them all out of the way and told them to kindly "back down or get smacked down". A few of our friends got up as well to stand behind us in a show of support.
At this point I was about ready to just talk it out and let the game continue, HOWEVER.... I notice the "injured" player winding up a punch at my brother. Naturally I did a one, two snap directly aimed at his nasal area (which was crushed) knocking him out cold. That basically signalled an all out brawl lasting almost a half hour from what I understand. Thankfully we emerged the victors from this testosterone fueled melee fest, clearly fairing better off then they did (with less people mind you... we were 8 strong, they had 12 people).
I know violence is usually nothing to be proud of... but I have to say it felt good defending my brothers honor. I say this with humility, but I was told I saved one of our friends lives thanks to me being aware enough to see, and react to one of their people with a broken glass bottle about to stab him. From what I remember, I got a good solid punch to his gut and introduced his jaw to my timbs.
After thoroughly beating the living crap out of the aggressors, who left with broken noses, ribs, jaws, etc etc. our team shrugged off the few bruises we had and went on to win the entire tournament! To make our victory even sweeter, the other team was banned from the tournament. So a thorough victory in all respects for my brothers team
Hopefully none of you have to get involved in violence like that, and you'll forgive me for partaking in it. I believe that we shouldn't really use violence as an answer to our problems but in this case, I think anyway, we really didn't have a choice.
There you have it... a weekend out of my life
Hope to see you in game as I nurse my only injury of a busted lip >.>
